Andrew Osokin, the Russian photographer and the master of winter macro photography who is currently staying in Moscow, has done a phenomenal job of capturing super-close-up photographs of insects, flowers, rain drops, frost and snow. Osokin has recently released the amazingly detailed shots of melting snowflakes on the ground.

At the first glance, the photos seem to be Photoshopped but they are not. These perfectly detailed images were captured using a Nikon D80 or Nikon D90 DSLR and a 60mm or 90mm macro lens.
You can find more from this amazing photographer in his LensArt profile and Tumblr.
